What causes neck wrinkles?

Because of weakened neck muscles?

The platysma, the broad muscle supporting the neck, weakens and separates toward both sides, causing overall sagging and overlapping skin that forms wrinkles.

Lifting that reaches the SMAS layer

Skin

SMAS layer

Retaining ligament

Buccal fat

The SMAS is a fibromuscular layer deep in the face, between subcutaneous fat and muscle.

Precautions After Rejuvenation / Lifting Surgery

Follow your surgical team’s individual instructions. Recovery and follow-up schedules vary.

  1. 01

    Protect skin with reduced sensation

Temporary loss of skin sensation may increase the risk of burns from hot or cold compresses; avoid using them.

  2. 02

    Sleeping position and activity

For one month after surgery, sleep on your back and avoid lying on your side or face down. Avoid strenuous exercise and facial massage for at least one month.

  3. 03

    Washing after a thread lift

After a thread lift, face washing and shampooing are possible from day 2. Clean gently without rubbing.

  4. 04

    Care while sutures remain

If sutures are present, keep the surgical area dry and clean until removal. After 3 days, shampooing is possible. Preferably visit a salon and ask for gentle washing, avoiding the sutures.
