JUNG YUN IK is the clinic director and plastic surgeon at DI Plastic Surgery. He graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine and completed plastic surgery training at Severance Hospital. His role begins before any procedure is selected: understanding the person, the reason for the visit and the questions that need clear answers.

A consultation is not a promise of a particular result. It is a structured conversation about your goals, medical history, facial or body characteristics, available options and the limits of what treatment may reasonably achieve.
Dr. Jung explains the proposed approach, alternatives, recovery considerations and possible risks so that each patient has time to compare information and make a considered decision.
Preparing for your consultation
Bring a list of your priorities, previous procedures, current medications, allergies and any relevant medical records. Reference photographs can help explain preferences, but an in-person examination is needed to determine suitability.
International patients may also share their preferred language, travel schedule and expected length of stay in advance. This helps the clinic plan communication and follow-up without replacing the final medical assessment.
Education and professional background
Dr. Jung graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine, completed internship and plastic surgery specialization at Severance Hospital, and continued plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the United States. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Severance Hospital and as a clinic director in Apgujeong.
His professional activities include Korean plastic-surgery and aesthetic-surgery societies and research groups covering rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast surgery, facial contouring and fat surgery. He also received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare related to upper-eyelid surgery in older adults.
From consultation to the operating room
The surgeon’s work starts with deciding whether a procedure is suitable and defining a plan that respects the patient’s anatomy, health information and priorities. Before surgery, the proposed method, alternatives, anesthesia, expected recovery and possible risks should be reviewed together.
In the operating room, the plan is paired with the monitoring and team appropriate for the procedure. After surgery, findings, instructions and follow-up are communicated so that recovery can be assessed over time.
