After Arm Lift Surgery in Seoul: Preparing a Written Care Handover

Published by DI Plastic Surgery · Clinic information and patient-planning guidance

Before leaving Seoul after arm surgery, ask for a usable care handover: the actual procedure record, your individual instructions, review arrangements and a clear contact route. DI case 029 is a combined arm lift and arm liposuction case photographed at 14 days; it does not establish travel clearance or completed healing.

A follow-up photograph is not a discharge document

DI's official gallery labels case 029 as arm lift with arm liposuction and identifies the photograph as a 14-day follow-up. The cover preserves that individual's original paired photographs, masking and watermarks. It records a particular case at a stated time. It cannot tell another patient when to leave Korea, resume work or regard healing as complete. Individual results vary.

This guide addresses a different question from choosing an arm lift or liposuction: what information should you have when responsibility for day-to-day care moves from the clinic visit to your accommodation or home? The following checklist organizes questions for the treating team. It is not a treatment protocol or a promise that remote follow-up will be suitable.

Three items to confirm for an arm-surgery care handover: the actual procedure record, individual instructions and contact routes.

Name what was actually performed

Ask how to obtain a concise record identifying the operation, treated areas, date and treating clinician. If the plan changes, ask which document reflects the final procedure. A gallery label or booking description may be too broad for a later clinician trying to understand your care. Do not fill gaps with assumptions drawn from photographs.

For a combined arm lift and liposuction proposal, clarify which instructions apply to the incision and which apply to other treated areas. The ASPS overview describes an arm lift as addressing excess sagging upper-arm skin and reshaping underlying tissue. That general description does not establish the exact incision, method or operative details in case 029 or your own case.

Turn instructions into an actionable handover

Request the instructions that apply to you in language you understand. Ask the team to explain unfamiliar terms and identify who can clarify them later. Confirm what to do with prescribed medication, dressings and any support garment, and which decisions require the clinic's review. These are questions to resolve with the team, not permission to change care yourself.

Separate an instruction from a date. For example, a scheduled review is an appointment to assess progress; it does not automatically end an activity restriction. Ask what needs reassessment before reaching, lifting, work or exercise, using examples from your actual daily life. Keep the team's written answer rather than substituting another patient's schedule.

A handover worksheet to complete with the clinic

Use this worksheet during the final planned review before a change of location. Leave an item unresolved if the team has not confirmed it. A contact name is useful only when you also understand the route, availability and limits of that service.

Know the limits of a message or photograph

Ask what the clinic can review through its agreed communication route and what requires examination. Confirm who receives a message and what to do if a concern cannot wait for a reply. Do not assume that sending an image means a surgeon has reviewed it, that the service operates continuously or that a remote response can replace local urgent care.

ASPS lists possible arm lift complications including bleeding, infection, fluid accumulation, altered sensation, persistent pain, poor wound healing, scarring and possible revision. Ask your surgeon how to recognize concerns relevant to your operation and when to seek help. This guide does not diagnose symptoms or provide an exhaustive warning-sign list.

Discuss travel and continuity before booking

Tell the treating team where you will stay, how you can return for review and when you hope to travel. Ask whether another review or examination is needed before departure. Fourteen days is the source photograph's label, not a recommended stay or flight-clearance rule. Your individual condition and the actual plan must guide the discussion.

If care may continue elsewhere, ask what can realistically be arranged and what remains your responsibility. Confirm any interpretation arrangements rather than assuming that a translated website guarantees language support at a particular appointment. Keep ordinary administrative questions separate from questions that need a clinician's assessment.

Clarify the cost and responsibility of further reviews

Ask which planned reviews, dressings, prescribed items or later consultations are included in your written estimate and which may be charged separately. Also ask how an additional examination or a change of plan would be handled. Confirm applicable VAT and the final quotation rather than inferring coverage from a short procedure name.

Before treatment, discuss alternatives, risks and the option of not proceeding. Before leaving, confirm the information and arrangements that remain open. DI's consultation and medical-team pages can help you prepare that conversation. An online inquiry does not confirm an operation, appointment, personalized fee or travel clearance.

Information that helps us prepare a useful reply

When contacting the clinic, tell us the procedure or concern you would like to discuss, your preferred language, whether you have had related treatment before and the dates you could visit Seoul. International patients may also wish to include their arrival and departure dates so the team can explain when an in-person consultation and follow-up may fit into the trip.

Please do not send passport numbers, payment information or complete medical records through an initial website inquiry. A coordinator can explain which health information or photographs are relevant and how they should be shared. Online guidance is preliminary; suitability, technique and the final treatment plan are determined only after an appropriate medical assessment.

Questions before surgery

Does the 14-day label mean I can leave Korea after two weeks?

No. It identifies when case 029 was photographed. Ask your treating team about your condition, examination needs, reviews and travel plans.

Is a before-and-after photograph enough for a care handover?

No. Ask what procedure record, current care instructions and contact or review arrangements the treating team recommends keeping.

Does sending a message mean a surgeon has reviewed my concern?

Do not assume so. Confirm who receives messages, how the clinic responds and what requires examination or urgent care.

Are all later visits included in a procedure price?

Ask for the written scope of included follow-up and separately charged services, applicable VAT and the final individual quotation.
