Before the appointment
Send the clinic a concise description of the concern you want to discuss, the procedures you are considering, your preferred language and the dates you can be in Seoul. Mention previous surgery in the same area. A coordinator can then explain which photographs or records may be useful and how to provide them securely.
Prepare a medication and supplement list, allergies, medical conditions, prior anesthesia problems and relevant operative records. Reference images can communicate preferences, but they cannot establish suitability or guarantee that the same change is possible for your anatomy.
Medical history and physical assessment
An in-person consultation should begin with listening and assessment. The surgeon reviews your goals, health history, previous treatment, skin and soft-tissue condition, proportions and functional concerns. For nasal surgery, breathing symptoms and the internal structure may matter as much as the external shape.
This is also the time to identify reasons to postpone treatment, obtain additional testing or choose a less invasive option. A responsible recommendation may be different from the procedure you initially requested.
Discuss the plan, alternatives and limits
Ask the surgeon to explain the proposed technique in plain language: what will change, what will remain unchanged, where incisions may be placed, whether implants or autologous tissue are considered and why. Compare reasonable alternatives, including doing nothing or waiting.
The conversation should cover anesthesia, expected discomfort, swelling and bruising, scars, time away from work, activity restrictions, follow-up and possible complications. Results vary, and the final appearance may continue to change well beyond the early recovery period.
Understand cost and what it includes
A final quotation normally depends on the confirmed procedure, complexity, revision status, anesthesia, examinations and materials. Ask which services are included, whether routine follow-up is included and what could create an additional charge. Do not compare prices without comparing the medical plan.
International patients should also budget for flights, accommodation, local transport, medication, meals, a companion if recommended and a flexible extension of the trip. Keep emergency funds and suitable travel insurance; elective treatment and related complications may be excluded by some policies.
Leave with a written next-step plan
Before booking surgery, you should know which tests are required, when to stop specific medicines or supplements only under medical direction, fasting instructions, arrival time, the expected discharge arrangement and who must accompany you if applicable. You should also know how to contact the clinic after hours and which symptoms require urgent care.
At DI, the final recommendation is made after assessment with the plastic surgeon. Take time to review the information and ask follow-up questions. Consent is an ongoing process, not a sales form, and you may decide not to proceed.
Information that helps us prepare a useful reply
When contacting the clinic, tell us the procedure or concern you would like to discuss, your preferred language, whether you have had related treatment before and the dates you could visit Seoul. International patients may also wish to include their arrival and departure dates so the team can explain when an in-person consultation and follow-up may fit into the trip.
Please do not send passport numbers, payment information or complete medical records through an initial website inquiry. A coordinator can explain which health information or photographs are relevant and how they should be shared. Online guidance is preliminary; suitability, technique and the final treatment plan are determined only after an appropriate medical assessment.
